WHAT WE DO

Services Provided

In addition to the Resources for education and empowerment found on our website, Alzheimer’s Diversity Outreach Services provides important in-person support tools and services.

  • Family Consultations: Assist caregivers/family members with making informed decisions concerning the care of a loved one who has been diagnosed with any form of dementia.

  • Making Service Referrals: Help caregivers/families identify services that will benefit and support the entire family (Adult Day Services, Health Care Agencies, etc.)

  • Training on Caregiver Issues: Provide workshops for caregivers on issues pertaining to the Alzheimer’s disease, stress, legal issues, other health challenges, as well as grief and caring for their own personal health.

  • Faith Base Educational Workshops: Continue to educate the faith based community by offering workshops to Pastors/Congregations with information about the Alzheimer’s disease and how it affects the African American community as a whole.

  • Community Walks: Organize a community walk within the African American community to help raise more awareness about the Alzheimer’s disease.

  • Support Groups for Caregivers and Family Members: Organize support groups within the African American community who may find it difficult to travel a distance to gain support.
